Home Learning
We ask parents to help children, at all ages and stages, with learning activities at home. We ask that sounds and basic number activities are practised in line with information and communications in the Early Years Reception classes. When the children begin the more formal aspects of reading E- books are use to develop phonics learning as well as practise and sharing books.
The introduction of more formal home learning throughout the ages is detailed in our home learning guidance and discussed with our staff. Tasks are set from Friday to Friday, so families can include them within their home schedules to suit. Copies of the tasks are on the class pages of the website.
Information sessions are held for parents to support their children’s learning.
Some include visits to watch work in progress and share tasks their children will be doing:
Others are information sessions led by staff:
Further guidance is shared at Parent/Teacher consultation meetings, held termly. Information and links to useful sites are sent in newsletters and published on the website.
